SHOW RESULTS - SPECIALTY AT HATBORO, OCTOBER, 2003 as well as all Montgomery Weekend Shows

KERRY BLUE TERRIERS AT MONTGOMERY

Mick's legacy lives on. At three of the four Montgomery weekend shows, both Best of Breed and Best of Opposite Sex were offspring of the great Ch. Torum's Scarf Michael. The most consistent winner was Ch. Keribou's Pocket of Petals (Ch. Torum's Scarf Michael - Ch. Keribou's Viola Conspirsa) bred, owned and shown by Siobhan and Ernest Conti. This beautiful bitch was Best in Specialty Show on Thursday at the Philadelphia Kerry Blue Terrier Specialty as well as Best of Opposite Sex at both of the United States Kerry Blue Terrier Club Supported Entries on Friday at Hatboro and Saturday at Devon.

Thursday's Hatboro show was the site of The Philadelphia Kerry Blue Terrier Club Specialty, judged by British professional handler, Geoff Corish. He was joined by fellow Brits - Carol Ramsay of Torum (Mick's breeder), and Pat Munro of Arkama Kerry Blue Terriers. His choices were - Best of Breed: Ch. Keribou's Pocket of Petals. Best of Opposite was import Ch. Granemore Begorrat (Ch. Torum's Scarf Michael - Granemore Gibereen.) He was bred by Bridget McGeown, is owned by Booker T. Asberry, Jr., and was shown by Bill McFadden. Winners Dog and Best of Winners was Ch. Tontine's Yesterday's Hero (Ch. Tontine's Scanlon - Ch. Fralin's Calculated Risk) bred by Lou Perry-Cunningham and owned by Heidi Cregor. Winner's Bitch was Cordial Calendar Girl (Ch. Cordial Comet O'Lyrna - Glenachell Shapinsay Lass) bred, owned and handled by Donald E. Wilde.

The puppy sweepstakes is probably the most fun part of a specialty... especially when the puppies act like puppies. Ours was judged by Rita Holloway - with a great entry of 40 wonderful pups. Her Best In Sweeps was Fenian An Jacko (Ch. Glenvista's Angus Mac Og - Ch. Fralin's Na Pog) bred by T. & J. Rogers, owned by Leslie Ann & Jeanne Rogers and shown by Mary Beecher. Best of Opposite Sex in Sweeps was Fralin's Cliodhna of Whimsea (Ch. Torum's Scarf Michael - Ch. Fralin's Bit of A Risk) bred by Linda & Frank Sousa and owner-handled by Martha & Bob Nazak. An interesting side note is the fact that Ch. Fralin's Bit of a Risk won the Puppy Sweepstakes at this show two years ago.

Friday was another unbelieveably beautiful day. The Puppy Sweepstakes was judged by Bob Beuter, who chose as Best in Sweeps: Cordial Calendar Girl (Ch. Cordial Comet O'Lyrna - Glenachell Shapinsay Lass) bred, owned and handled by Donald E. Wilde, and as Best of Opposite Sex In Sweeps: Fenian An Jacko (Ch. Glenvista's Angus Mac Og - Ch.
